Virtual Stwlan Dam Walk for Treadmills

Nant Gwynant is a dramatic glacial valley in the heart of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, with steep Welsh mountains rising on either side. This 17-minute walking video follows natural paths through woodland and open countryside, with compact dirt, grassy sections, rocky patches and occasional uneven ground beneath the surrounding peaks.

The route moves between sheltered forest and the open valley floor, where streams, rocky hillsides and distant mountain slopes become more visible. The combination of dense woodland and broad green valley gives the walk plenty of variation despite its short duration, while the surrounding mountains provide a much larger backdrop than the gentle trail itself suggests.

The walking terrain is relatively easy, with little sustained climbing. At around 5 km/h and 0% treadmill incline, the video maintains a smooth, purposeful rhythm. A 1% incline can add a little more effort without changing the relaxed character of the walk.

Nant Gwynant contains Llyn Gwynant, a large natural lake surrounded by steep mountain slopes and woodland. The valley lies close to Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) and forms part of a landscape shaped by glaciers, with the broad valley floor contrasting sharply with the rugged mountains above it.

The area also contains traces of its long agricultural and industrial history, with old routes and historic features scattered through the surrounding landscape. Much of the scenery remains open and undeveloped, allowing the mountains, woodland and waterways to dominate the view.

For an indoor walking workout, this is a short virtual walk with an easy rhythm and no sustained hill climbing. The 17-minute session focuses on the changing scenery of Nant Gwynant, moving between forest paths, open valley ground and views toward the surrounding mountains of Eryri.
