Table Cape juts out into Bass Strait near Wynyard on Tasmania's north-west coast. Its flat-topped headland rises above the surrounding farmland, creating a very different setting from the forested walks found elsewhere in Tasmania. This 17-minute walking video follows the open track towards Table Cape Lighthouse, crossing grassy and gently undulating ground along the way.

The views are wide open almost from the start, with Bass Strait stretching out beyond the cliffs and beaches visible along the coastline. The Table Cape Lighthouse is the main destination, standing on the edge of the headland and looking out over the water. Built in 1888, it has become one of the area's most recognisable landmarks.

The track itself is fairly easy, with small rises and some uneven grassy sections but no long climbs. The video is set at around 4 km/h with a 2% treadmill incline, giving it a gentle uphill rhythm. Dropping the incline to 0–1% would make for an easier indoor coastal walk while still matching the generally relaxed terrain.

Table Cape is a volcanic headland, and its elevated position gives the walk views in several directions. The coastline below is a mix of rocky sections, beaches and steep cliffs, while most of the land behind the track is open farmland.

The cape is also famous for its tulip fields, which become a major attraction during spring. The area's volcanic soils and mild climate are well suited to growing flowers, adding plenty of colour to the landscape when the fields are in bloom.

There isn't much shelter on the headland, so the feel of the walk can change quite a bit depending on the weather. On a clear day, though, the combination of ocean, cliffs, farmland and the lighthouse makes for a very open and scenic walk.

At 17 minutes, this is a short and relatively easy virtual coastal walk. The 4 km/h pace and gentle incline keep the treadmill session comfortable, while the open views of Bass Strait and the historic lighthouse provide most of the scenery.
