Virtual JC Trotter Loop Bush Walk for Treadmills

The JC Trotter Loop winds through open eucalypt woodland in Daisy Hill Conservation Park, south-east of Brisbane. This 57-minute walking video follows a mostly level bush track beneath tall gum trees, with native grasses and low vegetation giving the walk a distinctly Australian feel.

The track is a mixture of compacted dirt, gravel and natural surfaces, with the occasional root, rock or uneven patch. There are some gentle rises and falls, but no long climbs, so the walking stays fairly consistent throughout. The 0% treadmill incline used in the video suits the overall terrain, while the 5 km/h pace keeps things moving at a comfortable rhythm.

The woodland changes subtly as the track continues. Some sections open out beneath the eucalypts, while others have thicker vegetation close to the path. The ground is generally dry and natural, giving the walk a very different atmosphere from the wetter rainforest and mangrove walks around Brisbane.

Daisy Hill Conservation Park has a large network of walking and cycling tracks and is also an important area for koalas. Native wildlife lives throughout the surrounding bushland, although spotting animals along the track is always a matter of luck.

For the treadmill version, the pace is around 5 km/h with a 0% incline. That makes the 57-minute video a straightforward indoor walking workout without the need for steep hills or a demanding effort. The natural track and changing eucalypt scenery provide enough variation to keep the walk interesting.

At just under an hour, the JC Trotter Loop is a good option if you're after a longer, easy-paced Australian bushwalk. The open eucalypts, dry woodland and gentle track give it a very different character from the rainforest walks elsewhere in the collection.
