Virtual Elabana Falls Rainforest Walk for Treadmills

The Elabana Falls Track follows the Box Forest Circuit through the subtropical rainforest of Lamington National Park in Queensland. This 56-minute walking video moves along compact dirt, exposed roots, rocks and forest steps beneath dense rainforest canopy, with the trail repeatedly crossing creek corridors and damp gullies.

Towering brush box and Antarctic beech trees rise above giant buttress roots, moss-covered rocks and thick layers of ferns. The forest stays remarkably dense, with filtered light reaching the track in patches and small creeks appearing between the trees. Water becomes increasingly prominent as the trail approaches the waterfall sections.

Elabana Falls is reached deep within the forest, where clear mountain water drops over rocky faces and collects in pools surrounded by moss and rainforest vegetation. The wider Box Forest Circuit is known for several waterfalls, including Darragumai Falls and Tullerigumai Falls, adding plenty of movement and sound to the route.

The terrain is undulating rather than consistently uphill, with regular short climbs and descents through the rainforest. Although the video maintains a smooth walking rhythm around 5 km/h with little or no treadmill incline, the actual track has considerably more variation underfoot. A 1–2% incline at times can provide a closer approximation of the natural rises.

The Box Forest Circuit is a 10.9 km Grade 4 track and forms part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area. The surrounding forest contains ancient rainforest communities and a rich range of plant species, giving the route a distinctly subtropical character.

As a virtual walk or indoor walking workout, the route combines continuous forward movement with dense greenery, creek crossings and waterfalls appearing naturally along the trail. The scenery remains close and enclosed, with the forest revealing its larger features gradually as the walk progresses.
