Virtual Cameron Falls Track Walk for Treadmills
The Sandy Creek Circuit winds through lush subtropical rainforest on Tamborine Mountain, with moss-covered rocks, exposed roots and damp earth beneath the trees. This 26-minute walk follows the Cameron Falls Track through dense vegetation, passing ferns, piccabeen palms and tall rainforest trees along the way.
The track changes quite a bit as it follows Sandy Creek. Some sections are surrounded by thick rainforest, while others open into eucalypt woodland. Underfoot, it's a proper natural track, with rocks, roots, steps and a few short creek crossings. There are also some climbs and descents, although the track is more gently undulating than steep for long periods.
Cameron Falls is reached along the Knoll section of Tamborine National Park, with the Sandy Creek Circuit covering around 2.6 kilometres. The area around the creek is particularly lush, with mossy boulders, palms and ferns covering much of the forest floor. It feels quite different from the more open woodland found elsewhere on the mountain.
There is also a lookout near Cameron Falls where the forest opens up to views across the surrounding landscape. On a clear day, you can see towards Mount Flinders and the southern Brisbane area, which makes a nice contrast to the enclosed rainforest sections of the track.
The video is set at around 5 km/h with a 0% treadmill incline, giving it a steady and comfortable indoor walking pace. The real track is more demanding than those settings suggest, with steps, uneven ground and plenty of changes in elevation. A 1–2% incline would give the treadmill walk a little more of that rolling trail feel.
At 26 minutes, this is a short virtual hike through one of the more scenic parts of Tamborine National Park. The rainforest, Sandy Creek, moss-covered rocks and Cameron Falls area provide plenty of variety, while the occasional views through the trees give you a glimpse of the landscape beyond.
